I have a real appreciation for what Jeff, Misty and the rest of the volunteers are doing for these cancer kids and their families. Most of us have had our personal experiences with cancer but its difficult to imagine what it is like to lose a child to cancer. To see the way Joanna and her family handled this entire situation tells me a lot about their family and their faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I never got to meet Joanna but I have seen the pictures of her in her UGA cheerleader uniform and I have read her story. I know she a special little girl and a huge Dawg fan because of her big brother Paul. I was saddened to learn that she had plans to come see her first game at Sanford Stadium in November 2005 but never got to come because she was so sick. It broke my heart to know that she passed away weeks later.
Im so glad that I can help this foundation in some small way, and I just know that others within the bulldog nation will decide to help too as they learn about Joanna and the great things the foundation is doing to help other cancer kids.
God Bless you all and good luck! Go Dawgs!
